Aunt Babe's Baked Beans
2 pounds navy beans
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 tsp salt
sprinkle of pepper
1 large onion, chopped
3 Tbsp mustard
1 can stewed tomatoes (17 oz), mashed
1/2 pound bacon fried crisp
Rinse beans thoroughly. In a large kettle, cover beans with water 2 inches over the beans. Soak overnight.
In the morning, cook beans for 1 hour over medium heat. Make sure the water is still 2 inches over beans. Drain completely. Return beans to kettle.
Combine the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Pour over beans.
Put mixture into a crock pot and cook on high for 2 hours.
Turn crock pot to medium or low temp and continue cooking for about 4 hours more. Stir occasionally.

This recipe starts a day before you need them with dried navy beans and then cooks for about 6 hours in a crock pot.
