Aunt Judy's Ham Loaf with help from the Amish

Why I Love This Recipe
While living in PA my family made many many trips to Amish country. We not only fell in love wth the scenery and people, but I think the food is the "original" home cooking.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb. ground pork
1/2 lb. ground ham
3/4 Cup milk
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 egg
1 Tbls. instant tapioca
1/2 tsp prepared horseradish
3-4 drops red food color (optional)
Sauce: 1/2 Cup ketchup
2 Tbls. packed brown sugar
1 Tbls. worcestershire sauce
Directions
In large bowl, mix together pork, ham, milk, crumbs, egg, tapioca, horseradish and food coloring; if desired, until well blended.
Place mixture in loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour.
In small bowl, stir together sauce ingredients. Pour sauce over ham loaf and bake for another 30 minutes basting occasionally with sauce.
Remove from oven; let stand 10 minutes before removing from pan. Slice to serve.
Keep in mind, their foods were cooked without electricity. Just imagine. Enjoy !!!
