Aunt June Tavenier's Chili Sauce

Serves about 6 pints | Prep Time | Cook Time

Ingredients

1 peck tomatoes
8 large onions
8 hot peppers
1 cup salt
1 quart vinegar
6 cups of sugar
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice


Skin tomatoes and cut fine


Add ground peppers and onions


Add salt


Let stand overnight


Drain in colander 2 hours


Put in bowl and add vinegar, sugar. ginger, cinnamon, allspice


Boil 'til thick about 1 1/2 hours


Put in pint jars


Pairs Well With

Found this one in my old recipes. She is my great aunt on my Dads side. I haven't tried it yet. So if you try it before me let me know what you think :) (Only reason I haven't tried it is I hate hot peppers and too much salt!)
