AUNT LILLY’S JAM CAKE

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 C flour
  • 2/3 C butter
  • 3/4 C sugar
  • 1/4 C sour milk
  • 1 C jam
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions

  • Butter and flour a cake pan.
  • Sift flour, salt, baking soda, and spices.
  • Cream the butter and sugar.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Beat well.
  • Add jam.
  • Fold flour into batter gradually, alternating with sour milk.
  • Beat until smooth.
  • Pour into cake pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
