Auntie Isa's Rhubarb Pie
1 baked double pie crust
2 eggs, separated (save the whites)
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
2 cups rhubarb, chopped
1 tbsp strawberry jello (optional)
In saucepan cook all ingredients (save the pie crust, of course). Pour into pie crust, top with 2nd piece of pie crust, brush with egg whites and bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes, or until filling is set.
Pairs Well With
This recipe is seriously lacking in direction, but I swear it tastes like heaven! I guess that's what you get when recipes are passed down through the years and are mostly held in memory!
