INGREDIENTS

  • Cooking Time: 5 minutes
  • Servings: 36
  • Preparation Time: 4 minutes (approx)
  • 1 3/4 cup butter milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • some corn meal
  • some flour

DIRECTIONS

Mix everything together, forming balls,


and bake in oil ( use a wok or deep fryer)


until done, turning once. Drain on paper towels.


RECIPE BACKSTORY

I once asked a pen pal in the Baltics for a favorite doughnuts recipe, but what I received was a recipe that said, 2 soup ladels of sugar. Well, I had to figure out what that could mean, because there were different sizes of soup ladels, and gravy ladels, too. And this is what I came up with, essentially creating my own recipe.
