- 1 egg beaten
- 1/3 c Mayonnaise
- 1 cup (1/4 lb) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp dry mustard
- dash pepper
- 5 to six drops of hot sauce
- 8 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
- 8 slices bread
Combine first 7 ingredients; mix well. Stir in bacon;set aside.
Remove crusts from bread. Toast bread slices lightly on both sides.
Spread evenly with cheese mixture.
Cut into 3 strips and sprinkle lightly with paprika. Place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Note: May be assembled several hours ahead, covered and placed in refrigerator.
Let stand at room temp. 30 min, then bake as usual.
This was given to me by a friend several years ago and I make it often when I have company for card parties or other gatherings and it is always all gone and have given the recipe out many times.
