Why I Love This Recipe
These were a big hit with everyone in our deer hunting party. I made them ahead of time and froze them. Thawed and heated them in a 300 F oven.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 pound ground beef
1 small or 1/2 large onion, finely chopped
4 slices of bacon, chopped
3 oz cream cheese
1 tbsp. catsup
2 tbsp. barbeque sauce
1 tsp yellow mustard
1 ts Worcestershire sauce
1 egg white
1 can refrigerator biscuits (I use Grands)
5 ounces of cheddar or Colby cheese, cut into 10 squares
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F.
In a large skillet, brown beef, bacon, and onion until beef is fully cooked. Drain grease.
Add cream cheese, catsup, bbq sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir over low heat until cream cheese is melted.
Allow mixture to cool, then add egg white and stir.
Pat or roll each biscuit out very thin. Put about 2 Tbsp of the beef mixture on each biscuit, and add a square of the chees on each.
Wrap the biscuit dough around the filling into a ball shape, pinching the edge to seal.
Place the biscuit 'balls' onto a parchment-lined pan, seam side down.
Put them into the preheated oven, then turn the oven down to 350 degrees.
Bake 13 to 16 minutes until lightly browned.
Serve warm or cool on a rack and package for freezing. Thaw and reheat in 300 oven for about ten minutes until heated through.
