THIS RECIPE CAME ABOUT LONG AGO, WHEN RAISING A BIG FAMILY AND MONEY WAS TIGHT. I WENT TO SERVE BAKED POTATOES ONE NIGHT AND FOUND I ONLY HAD A WEE BIT OF BUTTER LEFT. WE HAD TACOS THE NIGHT BEFORE. SO I TOOK THE ONION, (YELLOW AT THAT TIME) AND CHEESE THAT WAS LEFT, ADDED IT TO A SMALL BIT OF SOUR CREAM, AND THE BUTTER. YEA! NOW I HAD ENOUGH.
WHEN THE CHILDREN ASK WHAT IT WAS, I SAID IT'S "SECRET SAUSE".
SEVERAL YEARS LATER, URGED ON BY THE KIDS. I ENTERED THE "SECRET SAUSE" IN THE COUNTY FAIR. WON 1ST PRIZE!
