  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 medium bananas, mashed
  • 2 tbsp sour milk (add 1/2 tsp vinegar to 2 tbsp milk)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soda


  • Cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, creaming well after each addition. In another bowl, combine the flour, salt and soda. Add alternately to the butter mixture: the flour mixture, bananas and milk.
  • Add the flour mixture first and last.
  • Pour batter in a greased loaf pan. bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Makes 1 loaf
