Banana Split Snack Cake
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk (or use 1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice plus enough milk to make 1 c.)
1 cup (2 med.) bananas, mashed
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups Pillsbury's best all purpose or unbleached flour
1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 13 x 9 inch pan.
In large bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs.
Stir in buttermilk, bananas and vanilla; mixing well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Stir in flour, oats, soda and salt; mix well.
Stir in chips.
Spread batter in prepared pan.
Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
Makes 12 servings.
