Basic Marinara Sauce
1 28 oz. can whole Italian tomatoes, pureed
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
1/2 cup carrot, chopped
1/4 cup basil, chopped, loosely packed
1/2 tsp. salt
Heat olive oil in a large pot.
Cook onions on medium heat until soft and translucent.
Add celery and carrot. Cook until soft.
Add tomatoes, basil and salt and cook for 30 minutes.
