Why I Love This Recipe

I make a lot of these every year and freeze the dough to give away as Christmas gifts. With a little spice from the cayenne and the great basil taste from pesto, these are my go-to for any occassion!


Ingredients You'll Need

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 cup butter
1-8oz. package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup prepared pesto
1/4 cup basil, chopped


Directions

sift together the flour, peppers & salt


stir in cheese and set aside


combine butter and cream cheese until blended well


add pesto and mix well


add flour mixture and basil to wet mixture and mix all until combined


divide dough and roll into logs, wrapped in wax paper


chill until firm, or freeze dough


slice dough into wafers as thick as desired and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees
