Batter Bread

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 pint warm water
7 cups flour
1 tbsp salt
1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp melted butter
1/8 cup yeast
3 eggs
2 cups oats
1 cup dry milk


Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Add eggs and mix. Sift dry ingredients together. Add oats and slowly add to sugar mixture. Add 1/2 cup melted butter. Spread in well greased pans. (I use 2 9x13). Brush tops with 1 tbsp melted butter and sprinkle a few oats on top. Cover with a clean dishtowel and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes.
