  • ½ to ¾ lb round steak (cut in strips diagonally)
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp oil
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp dry minced onion
  • ¼ tsp dry minced garlic
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • ½ bunch broccoli
  • Thickening paste:
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • Cooked rice


  • Brown meat in oil in skillet. Add water, soy sauce, onion, garlic, and bouillon. Simmer over low heat until meat is tender (15 to 20 min). Add cut up broccoli and steam until tender and bright green. Remove meat and broccoli to serving dish.
  • Make thickening paste and add to gravy and cook until thickened. Pour gravy over meat and broccoli. Serve with rice.
