BEEF AND ONIONS IN BEER

Ingredients

  • 3lbs beef cut into small pieces
  • 1 1/2 lb onions sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 2 to 3 cups beer
  • 2 tbls brown sugar
  • Parsley
  • Bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1 1/2 tbls cornstarch
  • 2 tbls wine vinegar

Directions

  • Brown beef then remove from pan to crock pot
  • Sauté onions about 10 minutes
  • Add salt, pepper and garlic then remove from pan to crock pot
  • Heat beef stock in same pan, pour over meat and onions
  • Add brown sugar, parsley, bay leaf, thyme and beer
  • Simmer in crock pot 3 hours
  • Mix cornstarch and vinegar, add to beef dish
  • Add more salt and pepper if needed
