INGREDIENTS
- 1 quart vegetable oil or shortening for frying
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beer (hey, I just use Bud light ;) )
- 1 pinch seasoned salt (or old bay seasoning is good)
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 4 medium sized onions (I use vadellia)
- Quick and Easy dipping sauce:
- 2 Tbsp mayo
- 1 Tbsp ketsup
- chili powder, to taste
DIRECTIONS
Peel onions and cut into 1 inch thick slices. Seperate the rings and set aside to dry a bit.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, salt, and pepper.
Quickly pour in beer and mix until smooth.
Dredge onion slices in the batter, until evenly coated.
Drop into oil one at a time and fry in until golden brown. It may take a few mintutes.
Drain on paper towels or a rack.
Dip onion ring in sauce and drink the remaining beer. ;)
