BENNE SEED CARAMEL SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 Pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup benne seed (sesame seed}

Directions

  • Heat cream in a small saucepan over low heat on stovetop.
  • Melt sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. When sugar is lightly golden, remove from heat and whisk in warm cream. (Use caution; mixture will bubble up.)
  • Whisk in butter and salt, and then fold in benne seeds.
