Bess Scott's Sausage Gravy and Biscuits (Also Shit On A Shingle)

Ingredients

Sausage Gravy and biscuits:
1 lb Bulk breakfast sausage
About 3 cups Milk
2 TBS Butter
Pepper
About a handful of Flour
Fresh biscuits

Shit on a Shingle:
1 LB Hamburger (or chipped beef, corned beef or tuna)
3 cups milk
2 TBS butter
1 onion (add frozen peas too if using tuna)
Pepper *Opt: salt
A Handful of Flour
White toast (or fresh biscuits, Rice, texas toast, garlic bread, cresents ect )


Sausage Gravy and biscuits:


Fry up sausage


Add milk, butter pepper and flour


Heat through


Spoon over biscuits sliced in 1/2



Shit on a Shingle:


Brown hamburger and strain


Add onion and cook 'till soft (add peas if using them)


Add milk (other meat if you're using instead of hamburger), butter, pepper, *Opt: Salt and flour


Heat through


Serve over toast (or any of the other variations)

Notes

The sausage biscuit and gravy came up here w/ my family from the southern states. It was served w/ breakfast foods. Shit on a Shingle I got from my mom Barb Fankhauser. She made hers w/ chipped beef. I'll put all the variations of this recipe dwn below.
