Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need

1 C Sugar
1 tsp Grated orange rind

3 Eggs
3 C All-purpose flour

Vegetable cooking spray

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl;

beat at medium speed of a mixer until well-blended.

Combine flour, walnuts, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to sugar mixture, beating until well-blended.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 7times. Shape dough into a 16-inch long roll, and place on a bakingsheet coated with cooking spray; flatten roll to 1-inch thickness.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Remove roll from baking sheet;let cool 10 minutes on a wire rack.

Cut roll diagonally into 27 (1/2-inch) slices, and place, cut sidesdown, on baking sheet.

Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees, and bake 10 minutes.

Questions, Comments & Reviews

I made these yesterday and they came out extremely hard. I made another batch from a different recipe and thought it was odd that this recipe didn't have butter. Could it have been left out? If not, must have been baker's error....
