Boccone Dolce

Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need
For meringue layers
11/2 C egg whites
2 C sugar
For whipping cream (may use strained yogurt for creme fraiche)
4 C heavy cream
1 T vanilla
1/4 C sugar
For chocolate drizzle
8 oz melted chocolate
For mixed berries
3-4 pts of fresh mixed berries
Directions
Preheat oven to 225
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
For the meringue layers
Whip the egg whites in a mixer on high until they come to a stiff peak
Turn the mixer to medium speed and slowly add sugar, 1 T at a time every few minutes
Use a spatula to spread the meringue on the parchment
Bake for 2.5 hours or longer if meringe is not crispy all the way through
For the whipping cream
Whip cream until it forms soft peaks.Add vanilla and sugar. Whip cream until stiff peaks form again
To assemble the boccone dulce
Put one layer of meringue on a serving plate
Spread 1/3 of whipped cream on the first layer of meringue
Drizzle melted chocolate on the whipped cream layer.
Sperad the berries on top of the melted chocoalte and whipted cream
Repeat with remaining layers.
