BOUJIOURDI (HARD FETA CHEESE WITH TOMATO AND HOT PEPPER
Boujiourdi (Hard feta cheese with tomato and hot pepper
Traditional recipe from North Greece.
It's a lovely appetizer with poultry or meat, can be used as a "meze" with ouzo, ( meze = kind of snack ).
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 10
- Servings: 4
- Preparation Time: 10
- 4 X 100 gr hard feta cheese.
- 4 slices tomato ( ca 1,5 cm 0 ).
- 4 slices green bell pepper ( 0,5 cm ).
- 1 small onion chopped.
- 2 cloves garlic chopped.
- 8 black olives without stone , halved.
- 1 green hot pepper sliced.
- 1 ts chili flakes ( optional 0 ).
- 4 tbs olive oil.
- 1 ts oregegano ( dried ).
DIRECTIONS
Use 4 oven proof dishes.
Brush each dish with 1 tbs olive oil,put 1 slice of cheese in the dish.
Add 1-2 slices hot pepper and or chili flakes, a little onion, a little garlic, a slice of tomato and top with a slice of green bell pepper.
Close dishes with aluminium folie and bake in the preheated oven ( 200 C ) for 10 minutes.
Serve hot, garnish with halved olives.
