- 1 loaf of french bread cut in to 1" slices; 3c. Fontina cheese,shredded; 2c. diced tomatoes that have been seeded, I leave the seeds. 1/2c. peperoncini peppers, sliced. Olive oil; salt.
Pre heat oven 400F. Toast the french bread on a baking sheet in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes each side. Turn off the oven and pre heat the broiler to high. Drizzle toasted bread with oil and sprinkle with salt: broil until bread is golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Top with fontina cheese and broil 3 to 4 minutes, until cheese is melted. Remove from the oven. Top with tomatoes and peperoncini. Serve immediately.
