  • 6 slices bread, cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic diced
  • 1-2 med white potatoes cubed
  • .5-1 med sweet potato cubed


  • Brown potatoes, onions, and garlic. rip up the bread and toss it in bottom of 9 x 13-inch well-greased baking pan. spoon potato mix over bread. Add cheese. Beat eggs and mix with remaining ingredients. Pour slowly over cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 F. for 45 minutes. this might be interesting with butternut squash with or instead of some of the potatoes.
