- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup shortening
1. Combine dry ingredients and cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2. Stir in buttermilk, knead dough gently. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter or a glass and place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
3. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on top.
