Why I Love This Recipe

I was given this recipe years ago from a co-worker. It is now a favorite for put lucks and holidays. This is super easy to make (even my adult son has made it successfully ;-) and tastes wonderful.

Ingredients You'll Need

3 cups sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
6 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sticks margarine
1 tsp. butter extract
2 frozen unbaked deep dish pie shells

Directions

Recipe makes two pies. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend sugar, flour, salt, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla. Melt margarine and add with butter extract to mixture. Stir just until blended. Place pie shells on cookie sheet to avoid a mess in the oven if they overflow. Pour mixture into pie shells. Bake 45-60 minutes (usually closer to 60 for 2 pies). Ready when knife inserted comes out clean.
