- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tsp vanilla flavoring
- 1 tsp lemon flavoring.
- Deep dish pie shell
- Combine sugar and flour.
- Add eggs to sugar/flour mixture.
- Add malted margarine and buttermilk.
- Fold in flavorings. Pour into chilled unbaked pie shell.
- Preheat oven and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake 35 minutes longer without opening the door.
NotesThis has been a favorite recipe in our family since the early 1960's. Several years ago when I was sick and craving buttermilk pie, my husband, who had never made a pie in his life, made one for me. His turned out great!
