Butterscotch Pie

Ingredients

1 Cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons corn starch, heaping
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup water
1 cup canned milk
1 cup boiling water
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla


Mix brown sugar, corn starch, salt, egg yolks and 1/4 cup water until well blended. Add canned milk and boiling water. Cook over medium heat until thick then add butter and vanilla.



Top pie with beaten egg whites sweetened a little with powdered sugar. Bake until browned on top.
