BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. corn starch
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 Cup water

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients and cook until it reaches the desired thickness.
  • Really rich -- use on "real" ice cream or drizzled on cakes or in an apple pie before baking.
  • Yields 1 1/2 cups.

Notes

As I am diabetic I substitute the Whey Low golden for the brown sugar. Whey Low is quite expensive but this golden is as good as brown and is a great substitute.
