Why I Love This Recipe

I learned to make lots of hot drinks while working at a coffee bar. I still love making steamers (hot frothed milk flavored with syrup) in the winter - they're so comforting and delicious. I came up with this one after some experiments ... the cherry flavor works together with the mint to create a sweet peppermint candy cane taste! It's perfect around the holidays.


Ingredients You'll Need

8oz. milk
1 Tbsp. Creme de Menthe syrup (or liqueur if you prefer!)
1/2 Tbsp. cherry syrup


Directions

If you have an espresso machine, use the steam nozzle to heat and froth the milk. If you don't, heat the milk in a saucepan or in the microwave. Once the milk is hot, pour into a milk frother - or whisk briskly until a froth forms.


Pour syrups into a mug. Add hot milk and whisk to combine. Serve with a candy cane as a stirrer.


Tips: This recipe is easily doubled or tripled by just increasing the milk, but measure the flavorings into each mug separately. Don't add the flavorings before heating the milk, since fruit syrup can sometimes cause milk to curdle upon heating.
