8 c popped popcorn-(the same as 1 bag popped microwave popcorn-plain)
3/4 c packed brown sugar
6 T butter or margarine
3 T light corn syrup
1/4 t salt
1/4 t baking soda
1/4 t vanilla
Put popcorn into baking pan. Remove any unpopped kernels.
In 1 1/2 qt saucepan, put brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Cook and stir on med heat until butter melts and everything is mixed. Continue cooking till mixture starts to boil. When mixture boils, stop stirring. Cook for 5 min. Take off heat. Stir in baking soda and vanilla . Pour mixture over popcorn and mix until popcorn is coated.
Put pan into oven set at 300 degrees. Bake 15. Stir and bake 5 more min. Take a pancake turner to remove carmel corn from pan to large bowl: cool.
