INGREDIENTS
- 1 c. butter
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. dark brown Karo syrup
- 1 large box of Crispix
- 1 can nuts~ honey roasted peanuts or bag of favorite M&M’s. Can also use your favorite candy or nut.
DIRECTIONS
Bring butter, brown sugar and Karo to a soft boil on stove top. (Make sure the saucepan you use allows for expansion.) Let ingredients come to a soft boil for 1 minute. Then sprinkle 1/2 tsp. of baking soda over the top of syrup. Stir quickly as syrup will start to foam.
In large plastic (or glass) mixing bowl have cereal and nuts/M&M’s combined. Pour syrup over the cereal and stir. Microwave for 1 minute. Remove and stir. Microwave 1 minute more. Pour cereal mix onto large greased cookie sheet to dry. Dry for at least an hour. Store in airtight container.
