2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup maraschino cherries -- chopped
2 1/2 cups corn flakes -- crushed
1/2 cup maraschino cherries -- halved
Sift together first 4 ingredients
Combine shortening and sugar; blend in eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Add pecans, dates, and chopped cherries and mix well.
Shape into small balls, roll balls in corn flake crumbs.
Place on greased baking sheet and top each cookie with half cherry.
Bake 375° for 10-12 minutes.
