CHICKEN BREAST CASSEROLE

Ingredients

  • 6 - 8 chicken breasts - skinned and boned
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms sliced
  • 1 sm pkg Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Bread Crumbs (or soda crackers)
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese

Directions

  • Place breasts on the bottom of a 9 by 13 pan
  • Place cheese slices over chicken
  • Spread 2 cans of cream of chicken soup (undiluted) over cheese slices
  • Sprinkle water chestnuts and mushrooms over soup
  • Melt butter and stir into bread crumbs
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs over top
  • Bake at 325 for 1 hour covered - then uncover and bake an additional hour
