CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH STRAWBERRY AND WHIPPED CREAM FILLING (VEGAN CAKE)

Ingredients

  • Cake Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2-3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup freshly brewed coffee
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp distilled white or apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

Directions

  • 1) Bake cakes (for unique twist, bake in 5 separate 4-inch diameter rounds) at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes until inserted knife/fork comes out clean
  • 2) Let cakes cool and then cut off crusts to form equal circumferences
  • 3) Meanwhile, make whipped cream (vanilla + chocolate or just vanilla) filling and buttercream for outside cake
  • 4) Prep strawberries to fill the cake
  • 5) Assemble by placing one layer cake, one layer whipped cream, one layer strawberries, and so on
  • 6) After assembling, crumb coat
  • 7) Ice cake
  • 8) Decorate as desired and enjoy!
