For the holidays, I didn't want to make just an ordinary chocolate chip cookie, even though they're amazing. I used the Tollhouse chocolate chip cookie recipe, and tweaked it a bit.

  • 2 1/4 c all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (two sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 c granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 c Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 c chopped nuts
  • 3 Tbs Spearmint flakes
  • 1 tsp green food coloring

  • Preheat oven to 375 F
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamer. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Add food coloring and spear mint flakes. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely
