Chocolate Cupcake Cheesecake

Ingredients

CAKE:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1 ounce squares unsweet chocolate
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup boiling water
CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
3 8 ounce cream cheese
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 6 ounce chocolate chips


To make cake, in bowl of electric mixer, beat together sugar, butter and egg and vanilla until blended. Beat in chocolate until smooth. Combine flour and soda. Add to chocolate mixture along with buttermilk beating well. Add boiling water and mix until smooth. Turn into greased 9" springform pan, pushing some of the batter part way up sides of pan. To prepare filling, in bowl of electric mixer beat cream cheese with sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Fold in chocolate pieces. Spoon cheese mixture into center of cake batter in springform pan, leaving a 1" boarder of chocolate. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 60-75 minutes or until set. Cool at room temperature 30-60 minutes and then refrigerated until serving time. Garnish with a border of whipped cream.
