Chocolate Drops

Serves 3 dozen | Prep Time 20 minutes | Cook Time 8 to 10 minutes

Ingredients

3/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp corn syrup
2 cups flour
1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup raisins, dried cherries, or flavored chips of your choice
1 cup chopped walnuts


Cream together the butter, both of the sugars, and the eggs


Mix in the vanilla and corn syrup


Whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and the salt


Add the dry ingredients to the bowl


Mix until combined


Scrape the bowl


Mix in the raisins or chips and walnuts


Scoop by the tablespoon onto the prepared baking sheets


Bake for 8 to 10 *** on the shorter end of the time range if you like the cookies chewier ***


Remove from the oven


Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely

The cookies are on the crispy side - if you prefer a chewier one, bake them for the lower amount of the range given
