CHOCOLATE FLORENTINE COOKIES

Chocolate Florentine Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup light or dark corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven 375 degrees. Line baking sheet with foil. Melt butter in saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in oats, sugar, flour, corn syrup, milk, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. Drop by level tsp 3 inches apart. Spread thinly with rubber spatula. Bake 6-8 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool completely.


Microwave morsels until melted. Spread thin layer of melted chocolate onto flat side of 1/2 the cookies. Top with remaining cookies.
