Chocolate Gravy and Biscuits
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons dry cocoa
1/2 cup very hot water
Mix the above ingredients in a pan on the stove together until syrupy. Heat until almost bubbly.
Add 1 1/2 to 2 cups of milk to the syrup.
Stir over heat until thick and bubbly--stir constantly.
Serve warm over your favorite biscuits.
Pairs Well With
My mom and aunts have been making this sweet chocolate gravy for as long as I can remember.
My dad prefers to put peanut butter on his biscuits first and pour the gravy over top.
We grew up on this ( I'm a senior citizen), so
that tells you how long I've been eating Chocolate gravy.
I think it is so great that you are sharing an old recipe, that a lot of people have probably never heard of. The peanut buter added is new to me....I will have to try this.
