CHOCOLATE MINT BAR BROWNIE

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 16 oz. can chocolate syrup
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. peppermint extract (depending on how strong you want the flavor of mint.)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 6 Tbsp. butter

Directions

  • Mix first 8 ingredients and pour into a jellyroll pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Cool and set aside.
  • Combine next four ingredients plus green food color if desired and spread over bars. Let set.
  • Make a glaze with the chocolate chips and butter, spread over green layer. Cut into small squares.

Notes

I love the flavor of chocolate and mint and have developed many recipes using those two ingredients. This recipe I found for my mom to use when entertaining. It's a big hit, especially around the holidays, and this recipe makes plenty of yummy servings to share with friends and family.
