Chocolate Pound Cake with Fudgey Frosting
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cups milk
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
Combine first 5 ingredients in a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Boil 2 minutes, stirring.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
Beat at high speed until smooth and spreadable.
