  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 pkg 10 oz marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp shortening


  • Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat and stir until completely melted.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add cereal, stir until well coated using buttered spatula or wax paper press mixture evenly into buttered pan.
  • For filling, add chocolate chips with shortening in small pan, stir over very low heat until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Cut cooled bars in ½, keeping 1/3 cup of melted chocolate spread remaining over ½, and place them on top of each other to make a sandwich. Chill until chocolate is firm and store in airtight container at room temp.
