BackstoryMy mom would make this chutney to adjust the spice level for her chicken curry. You can make it as spicy or as mild as you please. This chutney adds a zesty fresh flavor to any dish.
- 1 bunch cliantro
- 1 clove of garlic
- Juice of up to 2 lemons
- 2 - 5 Jalapeno's
- Salt to taste
- Wash cilantro and place in a food processor or blender. Wash jalapeno's, remove stem and place in blender. Add in garlic and juice of 1 lemon. Blend well. Add in salt and additional lemon juice to taste.
- Side note:
- Remove seeds from jalapeno's to reduce heat to chutney. Can easily double or triple the recipe.
- For additonal tang zest one lemon and blend in.
- You can substitute most light vinegars for the lemon juice
