Cinnamon Blackberry Dumplings

Ingredients

3 pt ripe blackberries
3/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsps butter
2 cups flour
3 tbsps sugar
1 tsp salt
1 egg
3 1/2 tbsps baking powder
Milk


Combine blackberries, water, sugar and cinnamon in pan and let sit while preparing remainder of recipe.


Sift the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into mixing bowl. Add egg and mix well. Add enough milk to make a stiff batter.


Bring blackberry mixture to a boil. Add dough a spoonful at a time into the boiling mixture. Cover with a lid, reduce heat slightly to prevent sticking and cook, covered for about 15 to 20 minutes.
