Serves 4 | Prep Time 1.5 hours | Cook Time

Why I Love This Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need

1 ½ cup of Rice.
1 ½ cup of fresh and shredded Coconut.
3 tbl of Butter.
1 Onion chopped
1 pinch of salt
2 tea of ground Cardamon.


Soak the rice for 30 mins in 1 1/2 cups water and soak the coconut for 30 mins in 2 cups water.

Drain the rice and set aside. Keep the water.

Blend the coconut with the water it was soaked in. Strain and reserve the coconut milk.

Heat butter in a skillet. Add the onions and saute until golden.

Add rice and fry a few minutes.

Add coconut milk and water from the rice. Bring to a boil.

Season with salt to taste and cardamom. Lower heat and simmer until the rice is cooked.
