Country Butter Beans
LIma beans here in the South are called butter beans. We use smoked pork to season and cook slowly. Always better the second day. Good eatting!

- 1(32 oz.)pkg. large lima beans
- 2 smoked shine bones
- Salt & pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Wash beans well. Put into crock pot.
Add bones, salt & pepper.
Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.

I may be wrong, but I believe that Lima beans and butter beans are two distinct beans. Lima beans have a rather strong taste and are much more firm than the mushy textured and bland butter bean.
