Cranberry Cocktail Meatballs

I went to a Catholic Charities fundraiser where we voted on 25 recipes from 25 men who cooked. We all had to choose the best cook. This didn't win but was very good.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2Lbs. ground meat; 3- eggs; 1c. corn flakes or bread crumbs; 1 envelope onion soup mix; 1 can whole cranberry sauce; 16oz. can sauerkraut, drained; 1/2c. brown sugar; 12oz. bottle chili sauce; 12oz. water ( fill empty chili bottle ). Also, see quick fix below.

DIRECTIONS

Mix together meat, eggs, crumbs, and onion soup mix. Form meatballs--about 1" in diameter and place in baking dish. Mix and heat remining ingredients. Pour over meatballs and bake at 350F for one hour, uncovered. Keep them warm in a slow cooker. * (quick fix)--- If you want something quicker use frozen meatballs. Put them in a slow cooker and combine them with the sauce ingredients and cook on high for 2hrs. Enjoy!
