CRANBERRY SAUCE EXTRORDINAIRE BY LORRE

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup dried fuit (craisens), chopped
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 12 ounce package fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 orange, peeled and pureed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large apple, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmet
  • 1 pear, peeled and diced

Directions

  • In a medium/large sauce pan, boil water and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat to a simmer, stir in cranberries, pureed orange, apple, pear, dried fruit, pecans, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes until cranberries burst. Use a potato masher if desired to breakdown raw fruits further. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature before serving.
