Cream Cheese Marbled Brownies

Serves 9 | Prep Time 10 minutes | Cook Time 40 minute


Chocolate Layer
4 ounces Baker's German Sweet Chocolate
3 Tbsp butter
2 eggs
3/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp almond extract

White Layer
3 ounces cream cheese
2 Tbsp butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Melt chocolate and butter over very low heat or in microwave. Cool.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease 8" or 9" square pan.

Chocolate Layer:

Beat eggs until light colored.

Slowly add sugar; beat until thickened.

Add dry ingredients.

Blend in cooled chocolate mixture, vanilla, almond extract, and nuts.

White Layer:

Cream the cheese and butter.

Gradually add sugar, beating until fluffy.

Blend in egg, flour, and vanilla.

Spread half the chocolate batter into pan. Top with white batter.

Spoon remaining chocolate batter over top.

Zigzag knife through the batter to marble.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes.

Cool before cutting into squares.
